Just to get these out of the way first thing, my biases related to Torchwood are:

1. I am a Jack/Ianto shipper.  Yes, completely and totally.  I make no apologies for it whatsoever, but that is not the only thing I like about the show.

I think I know why I tend to get invested in shows on tiny networks, looking for niche audiences instead of mass appeal. I guess the drum I step to just beats at a slightly different rhythm than most everybody else’s. I kinda like that, but it makes it tough to trust any show runner, ever.
